Follow up on Mehan Orphanage Move Campaign

The move of AFCECO’s Mehan Orphanage has begun! We have rented a house and are in the process of making it a home for the girls. It is a big and a beautiful house with a large yard that will allow the girls to enjoy the outdoors in a secure environment. We are also working to ensure that the necessary security measures are in place.

Because of your support and generous donations, the Mehan Orphanage will be in a more secure location. Though the extremists continue to attack our city, you are providing a safe haven for the children. A home that offers sanctuary from the violence and fear that can consume daily lives. We are extremely grateful.

New Mehan Orphanage

Our most sincere thanks to all sponsors who have always been standing with us and helped us whenever we called upon them. Special thanks to Sahar Amin, one of our young sponsors based in Virginia, launched a GoFundMe campaign, which introduced AFCECO to people unfamiliar with our work and raised over $3,000 in support of the move. And we must give a very special and humble thank you to Matthias Tomczak, a good friend who gifted a significant sum of money for this cause. And we also very grateful of our friends in Italy who have been helping us for almost 15 years and replied to our appeal with big donations, thanks to our friends in CISDA and ISP for their major contributions. And lastly, thanks to Dale W. Larson, a professor at American University of Afghanistan for his big donation.

Although we raised a majority of the money needed, we have not met our goal of $75,000. One of our original sponsors has offered to match all donations made between now and June 15, 2016 up to a maximum of $25,000. You can DOUBLE your donation by giving to AFCECO prior to June 15th. A $10 gift will become $20; a $500 gift will become $1,000. The first $25,000 raised will be doubled so give now to ensure that your donation is maximized!
